Information we collect
When you take the free reading assessment or contact us, we collect the parent’s name and email, your child’s first name (optional) and age/grade, and your answers. If you purchase, payment is processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
How we use it
To send your child’s results and recommended next steps, respond to messages, provide purchased programs, and send reading information you can unsubscribe from at any time.
Children’s privacy
Our forms are intended to be completed by parents or guardians.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We use service providers such as our web host, email delivery, Stripe, and our learning platform.

Who we are. Read Like Rocky (“we,” “us”) is operated by Read Like Rocky, Eugene, Oregon. Email: support@readlikerocky.com. We run readlikerocky.com, our learning platform, and the Read Like Rocky parent community.
Who this is for. Our programs help children learn to read. Accounts, purchases and the community are for parents and legal guardians age 18 or older. Children use lessons only through a parent’s account, after the parent gives consent.
Information we collect from parents. Name, email, phone (optional), billing details (processed by Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers), account login, messages you send us, and your community posts.

Information collected automatically. Device and browser type, IP address, pages visited, and cookies needed to log in and keep the site working. On pages where children learn, we do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or tracking for ads.
How we use information. To deliver assessments, lessons, progress reports and rewards; to run your account and billing; to answer support questions; to improve our lessons; and to send program and marketing emails to parents. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time.
Who we share it with. We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the program, under agreements that require them to protect it and use it only for us: our web hosting provider, our learning platform, Stripe (payments), our email delivery provider, Skool (parent community, parents only), and AI services that help personalize lessons. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect a child’s safety.
Your choices and rights. You can view, correct, download or delete your information, or close your account, by emailing support@readlikerocky.com. We answer within 30 days. Depending on your state, you may have more rights; we honor them for all users.
Security. We use encryption in transit, access limited to staff who need it, strong passwords with two-factor login, and a written security program. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify you of a breach as the law requires.
Changes. If we change how we collect or use children’s information in a material way, we will email you and ask for consent again before the change applies to your child.
Children’s Privacy Notice
This notice explains how we handle information about children under 13, as required by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We apply the same protections to all children in our program, whatever their age.
What we collect about your child, and why.

We do not ask children for their last name, email, address, phone number, photos, voice recordings, or location. Rewards and prizes are mailed to the parent, never requested from the child. Children cannot post publicly, message other users, or join the Skool community.
Parent consent comes first. We collect information from or about your child only after you, the parent, give consent at sign-up. The one exception: we collect your email to send you the consent request and assessment results, and we delete it if consent is not given within 30 days.
Sharing. Your child’s information goes only to the service providers named above, and only to run the program. We never sell it, never use it for advertising, and never share it with other third parties unless you give separate consent. We do not use your child’s information to train AI models.
How long we keep it. We keep your child’s information while your account is active and for 12 months after your last activity or cancellation, so you can come back and keep your child’s progress. Then we delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
Your rights as a parent. At any time you can: review the information we hold about your child; have it deleted; and stop us from collecting more (which ends your child’s access to lessons). Email support@readlikerocky.com. We will verify you are the parent before acting.
